The emergence of telehealth is widely regarded as an innovative approach to delivering services and improving access to healthcare for people living in rural and remote areas.

It is important to recognise and acknowledge further innovation in the application of this rapidly maturing and dynamic area of technology enabled healthcare.

As technology continues to influence and improve the way we deliver health services, there is great value in recognising the efforts of those who apply it in new and innovative ways. Telehealth has improved access to healthcare for many people who previously faced a significant burden of travel and time away from home. Today’s innovations are likely to become the accepted way we deliver healthcare if given the acknowledgement they deserve.

This award aims to reward the contributions of innovators leading the way toward a future state of true patient centred healthcare.
